The Robby Dawson Home for Women

Teen Challenge opened a home for women in 1999. The first facility was located in downtown Waukesha and housed up to eight women. This facility was made possible by a lead gift from Mrs. Sara White.

Sara wanted to see local women receive help from their addictions and made a personal commitment to help this new initiative. Soon several churches and a local foundation made gifts and the center was opened in the former New Life for Girls home on Delafield Street in Waukesha.

In 2001, the women’s program was moved to a much bigger facility in downtown Milwaukee. This new facility was donated to Teen Challenge by the Fleck Foundation with help from the Dawson Family.

This beautiful facility is located in the historic Concordia neighborhood on the west end of downtown Milwaukee. We named this new center after a young man named Robby Dawson. Robby struggled with addiction for many years before passing away in 2001.

The Robby Dawson Home for Women houses up to 30 women. These beds are offered at no charge to any adult female who is seeking help from substance abuse or any other life controlling problem.

We sincerely thank The Fleck Foundation, The Dawson Family and the many other donors that have made this home possible. Almost 100 women enter this facility annually. This place has become a refuge of hope for those looking for help.
